These candidates are claiming they are needed to make the 5 promises a reality. Sad truth is these people had the chance to bring you free medical insurance in 2006 and even 2007. The kaafu atoll MP Maariya Ahmed Didi choose to vote against it. So look at the track record before you vote. They claim they will use there expertize in law to present the perfect bills for the people , yet i the previous 9 years in parliment they have presented 0 zero bills .......

Reformists responsible for electing Gayoom for the last time

every MDP candidate claims the reason to vote them is simple. I'm from MDP and I brought democracy to this country. People should realise that most of them are pure opportunist who merely went out of favor with Maumoon. After all this is the repent party in Maldivian politics. No matter what you did in your time serving as a member of previous regime or as an MP in the previous 10 years all is forgiven. You become a member you are as pure as a new born.

So I guess it will be hard to digest that the current leaders the backbone of this MDP had voted in the parliament to elect Maumoon for his 5th term. The victims who were shot to death in maafushi prison haven't even been buried when these people joined the dictators cronies in givijng him a total 50 votes.
